√ Who is it for?
Anyone looking to:
• improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• address skin tone
• improve textural irregularities
• address skin laxity
• treat hyperpigmentation
• combat acne
• improve the appearance of acne scarring
• minimize stretch marks
• contour and remodel the skin
• improve on the overall appearance of the skin
• stimulate the production of collagen and elastin
Depending on what area(s) you’re having treated, the Morpheus8 treatment can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes. Your MD provider will start by applying a topical numbing cream in order to minimize any discomfort. They will then proceed to administer radiofrequency heat via tiny injections to your skin. Depending on the issues that you are seeking to address with the treatment they will also be able to adjust the depth at which the RF energy penetrates the skin accordingly.
We also recommend that you avoid taking any aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories like Advil, if possible. Certain supplements like fish oil, Vitamin E and St. John’s Wort are also known to increase the likelihood of bruising. We also recommend that you limit your alcohol intake as it can also cause bruising and try to drink plenty of water before your treatment. Your MD provider will talk to you about how best to prepare for your Morpheus8 treatment when you come in for your consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Morpheus8 is a highly effective treatment that has been proven to improve skin texture, tone, and tightness. Because of its collagen-stimulating ability, this treatment is excellent for minimizing the many signs of aging.
While every patient's skin is unique, Morpheus8 results can be seen in as few as 3 days with the most noticeable results appearing after 1 month. You may continue to see improvements months after treatment as it takes collagen up to 6 months to fully form.
There is some social downtime associated with the Morpheus8 treatment. You may experience redness, swelling, and bruising following your treatment. You might also have some bleeding immediately after treatment from the microabrasions, and your skin might develop tiny red raised bumps, but all of which will heal within 1-3 days. So although we do say minimal downtime after Morpheus8, you may not want to plan any big events for at least three days following your treatment. You’ll also need to be careful to stay out of the sun and you’ll need to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30. When you come in for your consult we’ll also discuss the appropriate skincare routine to follow in order to speed up the healing process and boost your results.
Everyone is different, but we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results, after that yearly maintenance treatments will keep up your results.
Morpheus8 is a great treatment for absolutely anyone. We have young people in their 20s and 30s looking for an airbrushed effect on their skin, as well as individuals looking to combat acne, scarring, skin laxity, wrinkles, and to create a contoured look to the skin. It’s equally safe for all skin types and tones.
You should not have Mopheus8 if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an infection near or on the treatment area, if you are prone to bleeding or have any bleeding disorders, or if you have any autoimmune disorders that could affect healing.
